Firefly is Whedon the next big hit television series. The actress must have made an impression on viewers, as this one episode led to her being a celebrity. Her character, River Tam, was one of the most complex characters that Glau handled with ease. As Tam, the character was required to participate in government research that required her to be prepared to become the perfect assassin. Tam's control over her emotions was weakened in direct consequence. Glau's skills in combat were shown on Firefly. The fact that she was being trained to be an assassin allowed Glau to make the most of her athletic skills. Summer Glau, a trained classical ballerina. It was her broken toe however that caused the end of her dancing career. Firefly ran for only one year, but built an ardent following. So passionate that Whedon came back to the show after a few years. Summer Glau however continued to work with quality. The actress was featured on TV shows such as Cold Case and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
