
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Shortly after graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her professional debut at the club , and also helped the team win their league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest player on the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match during the 2012 London Olympics. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year, Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
